OUR HAIL SHELTER COVERS NOT ONLY COVER YOUR VALUABLES, WE PROTECT THEM!

FAQ

What is Hail Shelter™ made of?
We partner with an industry leading car cover supplier and we retrofit their highest quality cover at our Colorado shop utilizing our patented materials to ensure the high quality, and maximum protection against high impact hail, rain, snow, ice, ultraviolet rays, dirt, dust, pollen, bird droppings, tree sap, and more. The outer material is breathable to prevent mold and mildew. The underlayment is made of soft non-abrasive lining to protect your car’s paint finish.

Does it cover my antenna?
The Hail Shelter™ comes with an antenna grommet for vehicles equipped with vertical antennas which would need to be attached to the cover by cutting a small hole into the fabric and snapping the grommet into place.

Does it protect against all hail sizes?
Our covers have passed several high impact tests including hail simulation. Although the diameter of hail is varied, in the US, the average observation of damaging hail is between 1” and 1.75”.  Hail is considered severe if a thunderstorm produces hail stones larger than 1” in diameter, or larger than the size of a quarter coin. Significant sized hail is considered when any hail stone is larger than 2” in diameter, or larger than the size of a pool ball. Stones larger than .8” are usually considered large enough to cause damage. Baseball size hail can reach speeds of around 70 miles per hour as it reaches the ground. Larger size hailstones can reach upwards of 90 to 100 miles per hour, which is like getting hit by a Major League Fastball. Since hail size and weight have a direct correlation to the impact damage it causes because of its natural gravity pull (Terminal Velocity), most hail damage caused to a vehicle naturally occurs to the horizontal sides of a vehicle.

Has Hail Shelter™ been tested for quality?
We have tested the Hail Shelter© with a 100 KMH pitching machine, dropping bowling balls, slamming hammers, steel balls, ice, and more. We continue to test the Hail Shelter™ to ensure we deliver the best car cover protection on the market.

Is it truly waterproof?
Since the Hail Shelter™ protects against mold and mildew which it can only do if the material is properly ventilated, the fabric is made of breathable material which prevents water from penetrating it. However, in some instances under heavy and constant rain, some moisture will naturally seep into the top layers of the material and evaporate prior to reaching the vehicle.

Does it fit in my trunk?
It folds into the size of a sleeping bag which will easily fit in the corner of your car’s trunk

How long does it take to install and remove?
The cover can be installed and removed in less than 2 Minutes

What is the delivery time?
The majority of our covers are custom made for best fit. Please, allow up 2 weeks to ship from the time we receive your order and payment confirmation. Shipping Box 32"x32"x12"

Is the entire vehicle protected with the “high-impact” absorption material?
Since hail size and weight have a direct correlation with the impact damage it causes because of its natural gravity pull (Terminal Velocity), most hail damage caused to a vehicle naturally occurs to the horizontal sides of a vehicle, leaving the vertical sides unscathed. In rare occasions some car owners request to have the sides of their car cover protected with the patented high-impact material. Our Hail Shelter Original has high impact protection on the horizontal angles, front and rear of the vehicle as well as 12" "wings" that drape over the top corners of the vehicle.
